Hygiene & Prevention
A fresh start, after years away
How a full-mouth hygiene treatment restored Mr R’s oral health.
The concern
Mr R came to us after many years without seeing a dentist. On examination the main issue was not decay but a significant build-up of hardened tartar between the teeth, which was beginning to affect the health of his gums.
The treatment
- Check-up & assessment
- Ultrasonic scaling of the upper and lower teeth
- NSK Powder Therapy to lift staining and soft deposits
- Advice on a maintenance interval to suit his needs
The outcome
The full-mouth clean removed years of accumulated tartar and staining, leaving the teeth noticeably cleaner and the gums healthier. Mr R was surprised by just how much was removed. Depending on individual needs, we typically recommend a hygiene visit anywhere from every three months to a couple of times a year.
