The concern
Root canal treatment has an unfair reputation for being painful. With modern equipment and technique, the reality is very different, the aim is to relieve discomfort and save a tooth that would otherwise be lost.

The outcome
Post-treatment radiographs showed the root filling well-extended to the tips of the roots. The tooth was then restored, with a bonded crown placed using clear cement so the natural tooth colour continues to show through.
